What is an Initial Consultation at Ross Family Law?

Retaining the right attorney is one of the most important decisions you will make and the time you commit to the attorney selection process is invaluable.

An initial consultation at Ross Family Law is a comprehensive, one-on-one meeting with an experienced family attorney who genuinely cares about the outcome of your case. During your time together, the attorney will gather detailed information about your case, discuss the laws that apply to your case, and propose possible strategies. At the initial consultation, you will have an opportunity to ask detailed questions and to share your concerns and goals. The initial consultation is also a mutual opportunity to determine if you and the attorney would like to work together.

The Value of Our Initial Consultations

  • You will have one-on-one time with an experienced family law attorney who genuinely cares about the outcome of your case. *Initial consultations last one to two hours on average depending on the complexity of your case.
  • You will receive practical information and gain important insight about your case.
  • You will have an opportunity to discuss your goals and concerns, as well as ask detailed questions.
  • You will have an opportunity to review your options and strategize.
  • You will learn how the law applies to your case.
  • You have the option of having your initial consultation in person or by telephone.

Why We Don’t Offer Free Consultations

Your time is valuable. The outcome of your case is critical.

We believe it is important that you have an opportunity to meet with an experienced family law attorney, who understands the law and how it applies to your case, rather than meet with an inexperienced attorney or paralegal for a short period of time - which is often the case when a firm does not charge a fee for the initial consultation.

Our attorneys are committed to dedicating the time necessary to get to know one another, the time necessary to discuss the details of your case in-depth, and the time necessary to make such an important decision.
